Which city is suited for you?

Do you drive a car when you hang around a city? If your answer is Yes, I recommend you to live in Seattle more than in Tokyo. If your answer is No, you might feel comfortable to live in Tokyo. Facilities for communication are one of the crucial points for most of people who are looking for their new living place. As you know, transportation depends on not only a country but also a city. Though my experiences that I’ve lived in two different country’s cities, which are Seattle and Tokyo, I figured out how closely linked with transportation and lifestyle. Today I will propose you which city is suited for your lifestyle. There are many differences in transportation between Tokyo and Seattle especially, Car, Bus, and Train, which is included Subway.

Car is one of the most essential means of transportation now. Traffic jam, Highway, and Parking are important aspects to consider living in the city with own car. Seattle has a little traffic jam in downtown. On the other hand, Tokyo’s one is really heavy. Despite downtown, you must be annoyed with transportation anywhere in Tokyo. Look at the highway. If you take highways in Seattle, you can go anywhere for free. In contrast, highway tolls are charged in Tokyo. The toll fares are anywhere in the city $7.00. Nonetheless, once you go outside of the city you should pay more. It depends on a running distance. One more thing that you should consider is parking. In Seattle, there are many free parking areas except in downtown. Even if you park in downtown, it costs about $7.00 for 2 hours. Meanwhile, the average of parking fee In Tokyo is $6.00 per hour. In addition, there is little free parking more like a shortage of parking in Tokyo.

Let’s move on the next point. It is bus. The bus in Seattle is satisfactory. There are over 100 of lines and also its drivers are kind instead of less information of each bus stop. If you don’t have any ideas which bus stop you should get off, a driver tell you whenever you ask. Tokyo also has an excellent transportation. You can catch a bus at short intervals like every 7~10minits. But bus routes are less than Seattle’s one. Another feature of a bus in Japan is abundant information of each bus stop. You can hear an announcement, which is filled with a plentiful information of each bus stop, on buses. Therefore, you can realize which bus stop is the best for you to get off without asking a driver. From these reasons, Japanese bus drivers are less open-mind than Seattle’s.

The last main transportation in city is train. It is not popular in Seattle. There are a few lines in the city due to people who live in the city use buses as a main transportation. On the other hand, trains and subways are main transportation in Japan. There are over 100 lines of it. As a result, you can find many ways to go to your destination. Sometimes it makes you confused but, it is very convenient. All trains and subways always arrive on time, and are running every 3 minutes to 10 minutes. The running time depends on a line. If you don’t want to late for your appointment or meeting, you should chose trains or subways in Tokyo. Then, you will be able to arrive almost on time. There is no traffic jam in this transportation.

Through these information, now you might understand which city is suited for your lifestyle. Let me show you my case. If I chose to live in Seattle or Tokyo, I prefer latter. The most important point of transportation for me is how plentiful public transportation the city has because I don’t drive. Moreover, going to my destination on time with shortest waiting time is also essential point for me, so I chose Tokyo to live in. When you look for your living place, don’t forget to consider the transportation in a city where you want to live. Even though, it is neither Seattle nor Tokyo
